Meet, Parker!

Parker Horsch is a multi-instrumentalist from Michigan, based in Denver, CO. His passion for music and his admiration of cultural tradition, from around the globe, has helped him blend modern and traditional rhythms and melodies to develop his own unique style.

Parker’s musical journey started before he ever picked up an instrument. His dad is a saxophone player and was in multiple groups during Parker’s childhood. At the age of five, Parker began taking piano lessons; however, he chose to play percussion in the school band. It was at that moment that music became the focal point of his life.

Parker has been studying percussion since 2005. He was involved in the drumline in school. During this time he began to explore music from all over the world and picked up playing the drum kit as well. He played in the jazz band, as well as a variety of other bands, with influences ranging from funk and hip hop to metal. At the age of 18, Parker’s musical influences broadened drastically and he became much more interested in hand percussion instruments from around the globe.

In 2016, Parker backpacked through central Europe with his friends to pick up his first handpan. This expansive journey led him to pursue music full time. Since receiving his handpan, Parker has found his niche in cultivating community, using his talents for sound journeys and yoga, as well as traveling and bringing people together through music. He also performs outside of the yoga studio with other musicians, bringing forth a refreshing, groovy, percussive, and melodic blend of musical influences.

Over the last two years, Parker has been working to complete his first full length album, All In Time. It is handpan focused, but it also features a number of amazing musicians and blends genres and cultures from around the globe. Parker’s drive to progress, his passion for community and collaboration, and his creative expression are just a few reasons to keep this artist on your radar!
